The issue of bee die-offs was covered in detail in the April 2009 issue of Scientific American magazine. In the article titled, “Solving the Mystery of the Vanishing Bees” by Cox-Foster and vanEngelsdorp (at http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?id=saving-the-honeybee&page=1), includes the following quote on page 2:
“As media reports of the die-offs surfaced, the public also started expressing concern. Many were eager to share their ideas as to the underlying cause. Some of these proposals such as blaming CCD on radiation from cell phones originated from poorly designed studies. Other hypotheses were untestable at best, such as claims that the bees were being abducted by aliens.”
Perhaps Sigfried Vogel will read the article and learn what is far more likely to kill off his bees.
